Fragrant Beef Satay – Sate Sapi

Mr Food Recipe - Fragrant Beef Satay or we are Indonesian people call this recipes "Sate Sapi", this recipes use a beef for top ingredients and i think this is a good food for me. Use a good beef from fresh cow for a good food but if you have a cancer, high blood or bad health i think dont eat this food.


Ingredients:
1 ½ lbs (700 g) top round beef
30 bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 4 fours before using
2 portions Sambal Kacang (see our sambals recipes or  you can try this sauce "Sweet Soy Sauce - Sambal Kecap" )
Spice Paste:
4 candlenuts, roughly chopped
2 in (5 cm) fresh galangal, peeled and sliced
1 in (2 ½ cm) fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
2 to 3 red finger-length chilies, deseeded
5 shallots, peeled
3 cloves garlic, peeled
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon coriander seeds or ground coriander
3 tablespoons shaved palm sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons oil
1 salam leaf
Cooking Directions
  1. Prepare The Sambal Kacang by following the recipe on sambal
  2. Cut the beef into 1-in (2 ½ cm) cubes and set aside
  3. Make the Spice Paste by grinding all the ingredients, except the oil and salam leaf, to a smooth paste in a mortar or blender, adding   a little of if  necessary to keep the mixture turning. Heat the oil in a wok over medium heat and stiry-fry the ground paste with the salam leaf for 3 to 5 minutes until fragrant, remove from the heat and set aside to cool
  4. When cooled, place the Spice Paste and beef in a large bowl and mix well. Set aside in the refrigerator  to marinate
  5. Soak the bamboo skewers in water for 4 hours before using  so they do not burn when grilling the meat. Thread the marinated beef onto the skewers and grill over hot charcoal or under a preheated broiler for 2 to 3 minutes o each side, basting with the marinade, until cooked. Turn the skewers  frequently to prevent the beef from burning, it should be browned on the outside and cooked on the inside.

Sweet Coconut Pancakes – Dadar

Mr Food Recipe - Sweet Coconut Pancakes or Dadar is a good recipes for breakfast. Sweet coconut is a good for you and i think this is popular snack food for breakfast, why ? yes maybe because this is a simple recipes.



Ingredients:
1 cup (150 g) flour, sifted
2 eggs
2 cups (500 ml) thick coconut milk
½ tablespoon oil
Coconut Filling (unti)
½ cup (100 g) palm sugar or dark brown sugar
¼ cup (60 ml) water
1 cup (100 g) freshly grated coconut
¼ teaspoon salt
1 pandanus leaf, tied into a knot
Cooking Directions:
  1. Make the Coconut by bringing the sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce the heat to low and simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture turns syrupy. Add all the other ingredients and cook, stiring constantly, for 10 to 15 minutes, until  the mixture cries up. Remove from the heat, discard the pandanus leaf and set aside
  2. To make the pancakes, combine the flour, eggs, coconut milk and salt in a mixing bowl, and whisk into a smooth batter that has a pouring consistency. Strain to remove any lumps. Lightly grease a non-stick  wok or skillet and heat over low heat.  Stir the batter and ladle 1 scoop (about 3 tablespoons) onto the pan and turn the pan to obtain a thin round layer, about 7 in (18 cm) in diameter. Cook until the pancake sets and begins to brown, then flip it over and cook for a few seconds on the other side, and remove from the heat. Continue to make the pancakes until all the batter is used up.
  3. To assemble, place a pancake on a flat surface and top with 2 tablespoons of the Coconut Filling. Fold one side of the pancake over the filling , then fold in the sides and roll up tightly into a cylinder. Assemble the remaining pancakes in the same manner.

Sweet Rice Flour Porridge – Bubur Sumsum

Mr Food Recipe - All Indonesian people like a rice and before Mr. Food Recipe share "Fried Rice - Nasi Goreng" and this time i will share again about rice recipes. Sweet Rice Flour Porridge – Bubur Sumsum is a good recipes for Breakfast and Dinner before you get out from home or before you child go to schools.



Various  types of flour made from sago, tapioca, rice and small, round green mung beans are widely used for making simple desserts and cakes. Bubur Sumsum is the Indonesian equivalent of a Jewish mother’s Chicken Soup – if you have a problem, eat a bowl of Bubur Sumsum and all will be well.

Ingredients:
1 ½  cups (180 g) rice flour
6 cups (1 ½ liters) water
½ cup (50 g) freshly grated coconut or ½ cup (40 g) lightly moistened unsweetened dried coconut flakes
½ teaspoon salt
1 portion Palm Sugar Syrup (see our Sweet Sago Rolls with Palm Sugar Syrup)
Cooking Directions:
  1. Make the Palm Sugar Syrup by following the above recipe
  2. Combine the flour and water in a mixing bowl and mix well. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove any lumps. Place in a non-stick saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for about 30 minutes, stirring from time to time until it thickens. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
  3. Combine the grated coconut and salt, and mix well
  4. To serve, spoon the rice flour  porridge into individual serving bowls and top with a little grated coconut (mixed with the salt), followed by a drizzling of Palm Sugar Syrup over it.

Beef Curry - Rendang

Mr Food Recipe - This is favorite menu when you visit Padang Restaurant. Beef Curry. Originally from Minangkabau but now it is served outside Indonesia as well. Beef Rendang is also famous in Singapore and Malaysia and usually served in traditional festival.

If you like a Beef Curry or Rendang, i think you like a Sauce because if you visit Padang Restaurant you will see all menu with Green Sauce. Ok now i will share this recipes and i hope you likes.


Ingredients :

1 1/4 liters Coconut milk from 2 old coconuts
1 Turmeric leaf, torn and knotted
5 Kaffir lime leaves
1 stalk Lemon grass, bruised
1-2 pieces Asam Gelugur
10 Red chilies, finely sliced
1 kg Beef, fat and sinew removed, cut into 3 cm cubes

Spices

3 tablespoons Chopped galangal
1/2 tablespoon Chopped turmeric
1/2 tablespoon Chopped ginger
200 g Red chilies
4 Shallots
Salt

How to Cook:

  • Simmer coconut milk with turmeric leaf, kaffir lime leaves, lemon grass, asam gelugur, sliced chilies and ground spices until the milk thickens and becomes oily.
  • Reduce heat.
  • Add beef and cook until tender.
  • Stir occasionally until the spices dry and turn brown.

Sweet Soy Sauce - Sambal Kecap

Mr Food Recipe - Sweet food recipes for you "Sweet Soy Sauce" or we can call this recipes "Sambal Kecap" and this is a good sauce recipes, you must try this recipes ! because this is a good recipes for eating with a rice when morning ( Breakfast ).



Ingredients:
4 shallots, peeled and sliced
2 red finger-length chilies, deseeded and sliced
2 tablespoons sweet Indonesian soy sauce (kecap manis)
Method:
Combine all the ingredients, mix well and serve in a small bowl.

Yello Bean Sauce - Sambal Tauco

Mr Food Recipe - What do you think about sauce ? before Mr. Food Recipe share "Dried Shrimp Chili Sauce - Sambal Terasi" and now i will share a good recipes with sauce, we can call this recipes "Yello Bean Sauce" or in my country we call this recipes "Sambal Tauco", yes i like this food recipes. My mother is a good chief, she can make this food recipes ( Yello Bean Sauce - Sambal Tauco ) and then for this time Mr. Food Recipe tell you how to make this recipe.



Ingridients:
¼ cup (70 g) yellow bean sauce (tauco) or miso
¼ cup (60 ml) thick coconut milk
Spices Paste
3 green finger-length chilies, deseeded
4 shallots, peeled
3 cloves garlic, peeled
2 tablespoon oil
1 stalk lemongrass, thick bottom third only, outer layers discarded, inner part bruised
2 salam leaves
1 tablespoon tamarind (Asam Jawa) juice
1 teaspoon shaved palm sugar or dark brown sugar
Method:
  1. Make the spice paste by grinding the chilies, shallots and garlic o a smooth paste in a mortar or blender, adding a little oil if necessary to keep the mixture turning. Heat the oil in a work over medium high heat and stiry-fry the ground paste with all the other ingridients until fragrant, 3 to 5 minutes.
  2. Add the yellow bean sauce or miso and stir-fry for 1 more minute. Reduce the heat to low, add the coconut milk, mix well and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring until the sambal is thickened. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool, then serve in small bowls. This sambal keeps for a week in the refrigerator.

Dried Shrimp Chili Sauce - Sambal Terasi

Mr Food Recipe - If you like a rice maybe you can try this recipes for eat with a rice we call this recipes "Dried Shrimp Chili Sauce" in Indonesian we call this recipes "Sambal Terasi", a good sauce  from Indonesian. Terasi is a good ingredients from Cirebon and then this is my city, ok i hope you like this recipes.

Ingredients:

15 red chilies, sliced and seeded
2 Tbs. dried shrimp paste
2 medium-sized tomato, chopped
2 small shallots, peeled and sliced
2 cloves garlic, peeled and bruised
2 Tbs. oil
1 tsp. sugar
1 Tbs. salt
1 Tbs. lime juice

How to Cook

  • Heat oil and saute shallots, chillies, garlic and tomato until they are fragrant. Take out from the wok and set aside.
  • Grind or blend all the fried ingredients with dried shrimp paste, salt and palm sugar, until smooth in mortar.

Fried Rice - Nasi Goreng

Mr Food Recipe - What a goods menu when morning for breakfast ? i think you must to try this menu "Fried Rice" or we are call this menu "Nasi Goreng". A simple recipes for breakfast and before you get out from your home. Ok lets go for make this recipes and i hope you like this recipes "Fried Rice" from Mr. Food Recipe.


Ingredients -

1-1/2 cups Cooked Long-Grain White Rice
1 tablespoons Canola Oil
1/4 medium Yellow Onion, sliced
4 Scallions, sliced
1 cup Fresh Bean Sprouts
1 cup frozen Petite Peas
1 tablespoon Low-Salt Soy Sauce
2 teaspoons Sugar
1 large Egg, scrambled
Salt and Fresh Ground Black Pepper, to taste

Preparation:

1. Arrange vegetables in order of use in small bowls or on plate.
2. In a small bowl combine soy sauce and sugar.
3. Heat wok over high heat. Add canola oil.
4. When oil begins to reach smoking point, add yellow onion. Stir-fry 1 minute.
5. Add scallions. Stir-fry 30 seconds.
6. Add bean sprouts and cooked rice. Stir-fry 2 minutes.
7. Fold in soy sauce mixture and petite peas. Stir-fry 3 minutes.
8. Add salt and pepper, if desired.

Vegetables with Tamarind - Sayur Asam

Mr Food Recipe - This is food recipes favorite my teacher when im schools, Vegetables in Sweet Tamarind Broth or we call this recipes Sayur Asam and we can call this recipe Vegetables with Tamarind. You must try this recipes, if you like tamarind maybe you can feels good with this recipes from Mr. Food Recipe.


Ingredients:
4 cups (1 liter) water
2 salam leaves (optional)
1 in (2 ½ cm) fresh galangal, bruised
1 fresh or frozen corn cob, cut into sections
2 cups (180 g) tapioca leaves, sweet potato leaves, spinach and melinko leaves (see note)
1 cup (100 g) green beans, cut into short lengths
2 to 3 green finger-length chilies, deseeded and cut into short lengths (optional)
½ cup (75 g) lightly boiled raw peanuts or fresh melinjo nuts
¼ cup (60 ml) tamarind juice (see our sambals recipe) or 4 to 6 carambola (belimbing wuluh), sliced
½ cup (125 g) small fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined (optional)
1 ripe tomato, cut into wedges
2 tablespoons sugar
½ teaspoon salt
Spice Paste
2 to 4 finger-length chilies, deseeded
4 shallots, peeled
3 cloves salt
Cooking Directions:
  1. Make the Spice Paste by grinding all the ingredients to a smooth paste in a mortar or blender, adding a little water if necessary to keep the mixture turning. Set a aside.
  2. Bring the water to a boil over medium heat in a large saucepan. Add the Spice Paste salam leaves (if using) and galangal, mix well and bring to aboil again, then simmer uncovered for 2 minutes. Add the corn and boil  for 2 more minutes, then add the vegetables, chili (if using) peanuts  and tamarind juice or carambola. Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer until the vegetables are tender, 3 to 5 minutes. Finally add the shrimp, tomato and sugar, and simmer for 1 to 2 minutes until the shrimp turn pink. Season with the salt and remove from the heat. Serve hot as part of rice-based meal.

Yellow Rice - Nasi Kuning

Mr Food Recipe - Do you like rice food ? ok, if you like i think we can try to make Yellow Rice or Nasi Kuning from Indonesian with Mr. Food Recipe. This good recipes for morning, before your kids go to schools and for drink we can try to make Fruit in Coconut Milk - Es Kolak 
 

Ingredients:
Long-grain  rice 400 g (2 cups)
Coconut Milk 625  ml (2 ½  cups), squeezed from 1 grated coconut with sufficient water added
Tumeric (Kunyit) 1 tsp, ground
Coriander (Ketumbar) ½ tsp, ground
Salam leaf (Daun Salam) 1
Garlic 2 cloves, peeled and chopped
Salt 2 tsp
Onion 1, large, peeled and sliced
Vegetable oil 1 Tbsp
Cucumber 1, medium, peeled and cut into long stripes
Method:
  1. Wash  rice twice and drain. Transfer to a saucepan an  add coconut milk, turmeric, coriander, salam leaf, garlic  and  salt. Cook, covered  tightly, over medium heat.
  2. Meanwhile, fry onion slices in oil
  3. Garnish cooked rice with fried onion slices and cucumber strips. Serve.

Fruit in Coconut Milk - Es Kolak

Mr Food Recipe - For first time Mr. Food Recipe share about how to make Fruit in Coconut Milk or Es Kolak Indonesian, ok before we talk about how to make or about Drink Recipe Mr. Food Recipe tell you what you need for make Es Kolak Indonesian.


Ingredients:
1 portion Palm Sugar Syrup (see our Sweep Sago Rolls with Palm Sugar Syrup recipe)
1 sweet potato
1 large banana, peeled and sliced
5 pieces ripe jackfruit, pitted and sliced
4 cups (1 liter) thick coconut milk pinch of salt
Crushed ice
Cooking Directions:
  1. Prepare the Palm Sugar Syrup by following the recipe step 1 on Sweep Sago Rolls with Palm Sugar Syrup recipe)
  2. Clean the sweet potato, then boil in a saucepan of water over medium heat until tender and cooked, 15 to 20 minutes. Remove and set aside to cool. Peel and dice the sweet potato. Alternatively, stearn the sweet potato in a stearner for 15 minutes or microwave for 4 to 6 minutes on high
  3. Place all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well. To serve, spoon into individual serving bowls and top with some crushed  ice.
